To Whom It May Concern:
My name is Christopher Hass and I worked as a member of the New Media team at Obama For
America, Barack Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign. I am writing on behalf of Kevin Flynn,
who I worked with on the campaign from June 2008 to the end of December 2008.
As Deputy Content Lead at the national headquarters in Chicago, I helped supervise a number
of volunteers and interns, and Kevin was one of our most dedicated and valuable volunteers. In
his role within our New Media operation, Kevin worked on numerous projects daily, producing
written content for BarackObama.com, communicating with grassroots supporters across the
country, conducting background research, organizing information and processing multiple news
Kevin is an effective, independent worker (essential qualities in a hectic campaign environment).
He was always the first to volunteer to take on additional tasks, and often put in work hours
equivalent to full-time staff. In addition to his work on BarackObama.com, he also participated
in a number of special projects, as well fundraising and other campaign activities.
At the (successful) conclusion of the campaign, Kevin continued to help out with various wind-
down projects through the end of December.
As a dedicated and committed worker, Kevin would make a valuable addition to any workplace.
I would be glad to answer any questions about Kevin or his work with Obama For America. I can
be reached directly at Christopher.Hass@ObamaAlumni.com or by phone at (773) xxx-xxxx.

New Media / Deputy Content Lead
Gray Brooks – Ombudsman- New Media Department – OFA National HQ
-Kevin tirelessly served with the New Media department throughout the General Election (after having already volunteered at HQ for several months of the Primary). Though he came to play a substantive role on the team resposible for blogging, he could always be relied upon to help in any way with a wide range of projects. Part of the campaign's online success stemmed from the innovative and effective operations that required flexible, intelligent individuals collaborating on their implementation. Kevin could always be relied upon to fill this need, regardless of the demand on his time and energy. His great work ethic, intelligent contributions, and selfless contribution to the New Media department and the wider campaign were a significant help and are thoroughly appreciated.
Mary Joyce – Operations Manager for New Media Department – OFA National HQ
- Was instrumental in selecting the participants in Backstage with Barack, who met the candidate before his speech at the Democratic National Convention
- Assisted with the Unite for Change house party mass mailing
Walker Hamilton - Site Architect -Obama for America - OFA National HQ
-I witnessed Kevin's unflinching willingness to work quite long hours with major blogging responsibilities as he volunteered for the Obama for America organization during the 2008 general election. Kevin is a committed activist, a sure-footed worker, and a great guy!
